Making Friends With Silence

pieces of silence
falling into place
settling into my heart

I have been enjoying a mini-fire every morning. This morning the flames looked like flowers dancing in their beautiful harmony. I was thinking about how much I always liked watching fires. Wondering is there any connection to the fact I live on a planet with a molten core; a planet nourished by a firey Sun.

Unexpectedly, sitting for meditation, I started using a type of breathing that several teachers have tried to teach me, but it never stuck with me. Not a part of a spiritual practice I could own. Now it has arisen naturally several days. I remembered this morning one of them called it breath of fire.

One of my favorite quotes drifted back up this morning

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing
and rightdoing there is a field.
I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass
the world is too full to talk about.”

unwinding from time
moving into no space
lessons succumb to insight

“Life only makes any sense if we can see time how God does. Past, present, and future all at once.”-- Isaac Marion

“but BEing time is never wasted time. When we are BEing, not only are we collaborating with chronological time, but we are touching on kairos, and are freed from the normal restrictions of time.”-- Madeleine L'Engle, Walking on Water: Reflections on Faith and Art

Thoughtful Moments

Finished reading Animals as Guides for the Soul - Susan Chernak McElroy. These quotes found in her book:

"There is no meaning in facts. As a physician and a human being, I live in a world of stories . . . . Stories are the language of community."- Dean Ornish

"Stories offer a powerful way for the soul to find a space for itself."

Hmmm there should be a story here. Well, a small quick one for now.

The janitor has already discovered my new lunch time, and comes to clean my space well I am gone. A small kindness for us both.

This morning's meditation brought another less clear question. "How do you capture time? How do you touch time? How does time touch you?

moments of stillness
place of union reunion
allowing an opening

from weheartit

sitting by the sacred fire
circling into stillpoint
settling into a grateful heart

So today's  peaceful, silenl meditation ended with a question circling back up through my consciousness:

What resonance are you? Are you the resonance of love?

Ah, hmm . . . sometimes?

To New Frameworks

“Seems like nothing's getting safer or better," I said. "Seems like everything's getting worse."
"Maybe that's what's gotta happen," Willa Mae said.
"Maybe everything's gotta break lose and fall apart before we can put it back together again right.”-- Margaret McMullan

what shall i do with the new maps
what of the  added  dimensions
shall i expand into all of who i am? how?

Finally, I applied for my passport card. On Jan's birthday seemed a good time.
Though there were hitches - the passport photo that I paid to have taken, really not the right size, right dimensions of paper, me too large in the picture. Ok.

And the certified copy of my birth certificate which I have had for decades
looked suspicious to the clerk who turned it over and over and over before
finally accepting it and my picture.

Done. I might be able to go to Canada again in 4-6 weeks. Ready.

Shifting. The new sacred mandala necklace that Ammachi blessed for me this year, that I wear constantly since then disappeared. . . . The crystal mala that Karunamayi blessed for me broke . . .
shifting energies . . .

which part of the dance do i choose, do i dance, do i watch, do i play . . . i think all of the preceding.

Eno & Turtle Medicine

A friend brought me back a turtle from Japan, he has been happily attached to the fanny pack I take out on my walks - as a representative of my turtle spirit. His name is Eno.

Funny until Eno came, I had totally forgotten I had a turtle as a pet in my preschool years. Memories of my turtle have come floating back - memories that did not arise even when I had dozens of turtle shells in my home in the past.

LOL - I can see by Eno's timepiece I was still at the park at 8:30pm Thursday.

From Spirit Animals & Totems:

The turtle totem wisdom teaches us about walking our path in peace and sticking to it with determination and serenity. Slow moving on earth, yet also incredibly fast and agile in water, those who have the turtle as totem or spirit animal may be encouraged to take a break in their busy lives and look around or within themselves for more grounded, long-lasting solutions. Traditionally, the turtle is symbolic of the way of peace, whether it’s inviting us to cultivate peace of mind or a peaceful relationship with our environment.

Turtle Symbolism

The turtle symbolism is characterized by the association with the Earth and earth symbols of groundedness and patience:
  • Symbol of the world, of the Earth
  • Ability to stay grounded, even in moments of disturbances and chaos
  • Slowing down, pacing yourself
  • Determination, persistence
  • Emotional strength and understanding
  • Ancient wisdom
The turtle is also linked to the spirit of the water and the fluid nature of emotions.

Ancient Whisperings

stories whispering in my bones
hollows holding sacred records
now how to find the home

At least, or maybe I should at most I did some more painting last night - love my new blue gentle dragon spirit. That feels old and ancient spirit as well.

And from a book I am pleased to have finished reading - A Woman's Journey To God by Joan Borysenko:

"Even though you may have jumped from the train they came on, the rituals rituals of your ancestors remain in your bones".

Shifting Consciouness Ever So Slowly

I had a consultation with Emily Baumbach whose input I have valued over 20 years as a Professional Astrologer; intuitive, and trainer of the Michael  Teachings. She was again provided me with some deep, unexpected information that I am mulling over.

Yay, a new word for pondering today. Mulling feels a little more active and though not as pretty a sounding word to my ears, a deeper process.

I asked questions, and was not prepared for the depth and ramifications of the answers. Oh so naive that I would be guided and prompted to ask one question whose answer I only expected to be the word no. The information is too deep to grasp entirely. Not the wording as she is always completely clear. The concepts and the pathways I may choose to walk. I will need to expand all the constructs of my world to fit the answer into myself. Well, the last word of the sentence wasn't intended to be myself LOL - however that is probably a true a word as any or more so.

Per Emily's website Causalworks:

The Michael system was created by Sarah Chambers, Dru Simms, JP Van Hulle and others in the mid-1970s in the San Francisco Bay Area. Each woman contributed her part of the system, and small groups would gather to learn the information. The original Michael groups expanded as the information spread by word of mouth. Soon other groups began to form, and new information and new teachers began to teach the system. At present there are thousands of Michael students around the globe.

The original Michael Teachings were a blend of the philosophies and work of Gurdjieff, Ichazo, the Taoists in the east and humanistic psychologists in the west, with links to history and modern spirituality. Most of the current teachers of this system have in turn studied with spiritual teachers and mentors of their own prior to coming to this philosophy. All Michael teachers have their own specialties that enhance the flavor of the core teachings.

The goal of the Michael system is compassion for ourselves and others.

The Michael Teachings are open to everyone. You can learn about this valuable personality map from Michael trainers, from books, from tape series of individual teachers, and from the many Michael websites currently available. A search on Google or Yahoo will lead you to a number of sites dedicated to this teaching, including:

Some sweet contemplative music that speaks to my soul tonight

decrystallizing ideas
undoing beliefs
daunting tasks
winding myself slowly into the day
small heartflame of cedar burns
i fall closer to God
