This was an awesome bench/work of art in Freedom Park on Camano Island
Very comfortable. Larger than the picture shows, and perfect title for my musical phase
There I am resting up before my performance. Performance, you say????? Yep, I did say that.
There is the stage.
And there we have the attentive audience
It has been a long time since I have sung Roberta Flack's "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face". Oh, such memories. I am/was ever so proud to have been able to study with the same voice teacher as the lead singer in Phantom of The Opera, Carnie and Wendy Wilson (Wilson Phillips ), Dixie Carter, Goldie Hawn, Jeff Goldblum, Martin Short.
Standing in her studio surrounded by pictures of famous people I was sharing a teacher with, Florence Riggs. And an awesome teacher she is, way, way cool. Was I that good. Nope, just damn lucky to meet her. And damn lucky she wasn't star stuck like I was. She was only glad to give 200% to teaching me, and everyone who came to her. Love you, Flo.
Oh, I was so excited when she gave me the Roberta Flack piece for homework. I had arrived. Oh, then she told me I could sound just like her with practice, here's a really old phrase "I was over the moon" in happiness.
LOL, she was too sweet to ever say, not that she wasn't bold and honest, but what I think she wanted for just for me to practice more. Sigh.
Well, rest of the post didn't save. So short on my dilemma, how do a prove I gave a rousing performance to a standing ovation (me + standing + clapping that works right).
Am I having fun most definitely.
Looks like I might get another day off tomorrow unexpectedly. Odd circumstances not exactly of my choosing. So be it.
Some days there won't be a song in your heart. Sing anyway. ~Emory Austin
I am so taken by your creativity, Lynn! Your photos are exquisite, your words delightful, and your wit soooo out of left-field! I love the tickles! LOL Delighting in your site!
ReplyDeleteindeed out in a field of my own, thank you, I just so loved this metal bench, so strong, solid on a hill where I could see the water; and a view of the stage LOL
