DNA Testing

Here is my favorite finding on my DNA

Two working copies of alpha-actinin-3 in fast-twitch muscle fiber. Many world-class sprinters and some endurance athletes have this genotype.

Way cool (my new favorite expression - reverting to being a teenager) I have share genotype with athletes.

And equally wonderful: my DNA showed that I have Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry, just now noticed of the report is showing some Balkan ancestry. . .  way cool - must check out the Balkans

An estimated 2.7% of your DNA is from Neanderthals.

Imagine I have already jumped into a couple of discussions.

So the big picture for my ancestry Maternal Line: H5a1

H5a1 is a subgroup of H5

Haplogroup H5 originated in the Caucasus region during the Ice Age, then spread out in several directions after the climate began to warm about 15,000 years ago. Today the haplogroup is common in Lebanon and many parts of Europe.

I am not going into studying genealogy. Nope. I did find it fun to talk with someone who is excited to be H5a1. Whole new language.Me just excited. I have no clue.
