Benches of Bainbridge

"The traveler was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes "sight-seeing."  Daniel Boorstin

and all these benches, way to go Bainbridge Island, a few other things always catch my eye

utilitarian art?

and a smidge of history from bainbridgechamber.com:

The Birth of an Island
Bainbridge Island was formed during the last ice age 13,000 to 15,000 years ago, when the 3,000-foot thick Vashon Glacier scraped out the Puget Sound and Hood Canalbasins.

The First People
For approximately ten thousand years, Bainbridge Island was part of the territory of the Suquamish people. The tribe lived, traveled and gathered foods, ceremonial and spiritual items and, hunted and
fished over a large area of Puget Sound, from the northern tip of Vashon Island to the Fraser River in Canada, the streams draining into western Puget Sound and the Hood Canal. Most of Kitsap County, and portions of Mason and Jefferson Counties were part of their territory.

. . . . .

From Bachmann Park in Bremerton through Brownsville, Poulsbo, Suquamish to Bainbridge Island.
And I went to see the Harborside Fountain Park in Bremerton missed the turn never saw it - Bachmann Park was so satisfying I just decided to enjoy the beauty there . . . Harborside will be another day . . .

Picture taking is more since I decided I am not a photographer at heart; didn't straighten or adjust a single photo . . . as is . . . just a meandering tourist . . .

"The camera makes everyone a tourist in other people's reality, and eventually in one's own." Susan Sontag
